Starting from Copperhammer mine going to iron look for a Pinesoul. I dont know if the names change but his name was Esnhal Hardwood. Fought him 3 times cause idied alot and he doesnt use it to often.

I went back and switched to a monk secoundary and it was the same guy. He didn't spawn the first time but he WAS there the seound time good luck.

The only way the Pinesoul boss would use the skill is if another normal pinesoul is in the vicinity. The boss will cast Life Barrier on the other pinesoul...and that's when you can capture it.

So sometimes you'd need to run a bit further off and lure another pinesould in range of the boss.

the skill description is wrong, the "X" is on dmg reduced, not ure life when ally takes dmg.

Why are you trying to capture a skill in the middle of a fight? Kill the boss and THEN capture the skill...you can spend all the time you want looking through EVERYTHING that boss had then.

Most of those posts are from before you could do that and you actually had to capture it mid cast. Thats how I got it. Had no other choice then.

If the boss died and you didnt get the skill, you pretty much missed your chance. Youd have to come back later again and find him again and hope he casts it again.

Worst part was when you got interrupted.

Now your odd of missing it are almost nill...

I wonder if this skill can be used in conjunction with protective spirit. i.e.: Protective sprit reduces a 120damage lightning orb to 48, and then life barrier reduces that 48 damage by half to 24. Anyone tried this?

any one know what the effects are for stacking this with life bond?

When stacked with life bond it appears that they both operate off the original dmg dealt, so if you get a 100 dmg hit life bond reduced that to 50 and life barrier further reduces it by another 20-46. So for a protection monk, it woudl reduce a 100 point hit to 4 points of damage.

Are you sure it stacks??? It would seem way too powerful if that were the case.

Another interesting thing is that it halves ALL damage, whereas Life Bond only reduces damage from attacks

It stacks, but uses are limited pretty much to putting it on an ele with obsidian flesh and letting him solo the whole level (pve this is) with stone daggers and aura of restoration :S

I havent tried it but would be amused (but not surprised) to find out it stacks..... theres absolutely no reason why it shouldnt.

Is this skill bugged? I've found that this spell does not end when my life drops below 50%.

it stacks, and you should play the Life Barrier before the Life Bond. The difference with playing it vice versa is mostly felt for the bonder, not the player that is bonded.

example with protection around 12:

bond then barrier cast:

player: 50 damage -/- 40% damage reduction of barrier = 30 damage
bonder: 50 life bond damage -/- 20 damage of life bond = 30 damage

barrier then bond cast
100 -/- 40% barrier = 60
player: 60 damage -/- 30 bond = 30 damage
bonder: 30 life bond damage -/- 20 damage of life bond = 10 damage

read the skill discription carefully

it clearly says if your health is below 50% when the ally takes dmg, life barrier ends
